Question 1

How does the AI SVG generation work?

Accepted Answer

Describe what you need in a chat. SVGMaker picks the right tool for the job: it draws new artwork, edits an image you upload, turns a picture into an SVG, removes a background, or makes favicons, QR codes and barcodes. Before it draws anything, it shows you the prompt and settings so you can adjust them. Your results are clean, scalable vector files you can download or open in the editor.

Question 2

Can I still use the classic SVGMaker tools?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The classic generate, edit and convert tools are still available at svgmaker.io/classic. They work the way SVGMaker always has: pick a tool, write a prompt or upload an image, and choose the quality and AI model. Both use the same credits. In the classic tools, work made on the free plan is public and may appear in the community gallery, and downloading it needs a paid plan.

Question 3

Can I create SVG images online for free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Sign up and you get free credits every day. Describe your design in the chat, see the result right away and download it. There's nothing to install. Free accounts draw at standard quality. A subscription unlocks higher quality and the designer agent for multi-step design work.

Question 4

Can I generate multiple images from a single prompt?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Ask for several versions in one message, for example "give me four logo ideas." Each image gets its own card for you to check before it's drawn, and each one is charged separately.

Question 5

Can I upload my own images for conversion?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Attach up to 20 files to a message: images (PNG, JPG, WebP, SVG, GIF, HEIC and more) or documents (PDF, CSV, TXT, Markdown, JSON). You can turn an image into an SVG for 1 credit, edit it with a text instruction for 2, 3 or 5 credits depending on quality, remove its background for 1 credit, or convert it to another format.

Question 6

How many free credits do I get?

Accepted Answer

New users receive 6 free credits upon signup. After that, each day you visit, your free balance is topped back up to 3 credits if it has dropped below that. The top-up happens once per day, at midnight in your time zone. Unused daily credits don't add up from one day to the next. Subscribers get their monthly plan credits instead of the daily top-up.

Question 7

Do credits expire?

Accepted Answer

Subscription credits reset at the start of each monthly cycle, so unused credits don't carry over to the next month. Credit packs expire 1 year from the date of purchase. Free credits don't expire, but the daily top-up only brings your balance up to the daily amount, so they don't build up over time.

Question 8

Which credits are used first?

Accepted Answer

Your subscription or free credits are always used first. Credit pack credits are only used once those run out. If a job costs more than your subscription or free balance, the rest is taken from your credit pack.

Question 9

Which credits does the AI design chat use?

Accepted Answer

With a subscription, the chat uses your subscription credits first and then your credit pack credits. Without a subscription, the chat only uses your free credits, so credit pack credits can't be spent in the chat. If you run out, your free credits top back up the next day, or you can subscribe.

Question 10

Are refunds available?

Accepted Answer

No. Subscription payments are non-refundable. You can cancel your subscription at any time to stop future charges, but payments already made won't be refunded. Credit pack purchases are also final and non-refundable.

Question 11

What happens to my generated images?

Accepted Answer

If you're on the free plan, your generations are public and may appear in our community gallery. Once you subscribe or buy a credit pack, new generations become private by default.

Question 12

What are the file size limits?

Accepted Answer

Images can be up to 10MB and documents up to 25MB, with up to 20 files in one message.

Question 13

Can I use the generated SVGs commercially?

Accepted Answer

Commercial use is available to paid customers, meaning anyone with an active subscription or who has bought a credit pack. Free users can use generated SVGs for personal projects only. Once you subscribe or buy credits, you gain commercial use rights for all your generations.

Question 14

How do I make my own custom SVG file?

Accepted Answer

Describe it in the chat, then keep refining it in plain words: change colours, add or remove elements, or switch the style until it's right. For hands-on changes, open the SVG in the editor straight from the chat. Your edit comes back into the conversation as a new version.

Question 15

How do I create SVG images for websites and apps?

Accepted Answer

Ask SVGMaker in the chat to generate, edit or convert raster to vector SVGs optimized for web and app use, and to optimize, resize or turn them into a full favicon set. The output includes clean SVG code, a proper viewBox, minimal file size, and transparent backgrounds, making it ready for HTML, React, or any frontend framework. You can also compare editors based on their SVG editing, code control, and export capabilities before using the built-in SVG code editor to fine-tune the markup directly.
